Container delivery: the truck, the ground and the gate

We book the truck and quote it in the same price as the container, hired or bought. Around here the hard part is rarely the distance. It is whether the surface at your end will hold a loaded trailer, especially between December and March.

Tilt-tray

10ft and 20ft units. Slides the container off the back, so it needs a straight approach of about 20 metres and roughly 3.5 metres of width.

Sidelifter

40ft units, and any job that needs the box set down beside the truck. Allow about 30 metres of working room and firm footing where the stabilisers land.

Crane truck (HIAB)

Lifts over fences, sheds and steep ground. Costs more than the other two and solves most of what they can't.

Getting the site ready

  • Ground. Fresh fill, irrigated paddocks and soaked pads bog trucks. Tell us about the surface and we'll time the run.
  • Narrowest point. Gate posts, grids and the swing at the top of the drive matter more than the overall width.
  • Above. Power lines, branches and roof edges over the drop zone, and over the truck.
  • Set-down. Blocks, sleepers or pavers under the four corner castings so the frame sits level.
  • Mine leases. Inductions, delivery windows and escort rules, sorted before the truck leaves.
